What do you need?
To stay warm and dry on the slopes you need to have a warm, dry jacket and gloves with waterproof pants. This will help keep you warm and dry allowing you to stay longer on the slopes
Do you need Gore Tex?
No, not for every style of riding. If you are fair weather skier who doesn't go off-piste, Gore-Tex isn't necessary, 15K will be plenty dry enough. If you are a Snowboarder who goes off-piste and is sitting down a lot, Gore Tex will keep you dry and comfortable.
What's the importance of layering in snowboarding attire?
Layering helps regulate body temperature by adding or removing layers based on weather conditions. A typical layering system includes a base layer for moisture-wicking, a mid-layer for insulation, and an outer layer for protection against wind and snow.

These bindings are next level game changers!!!
I bought the Roma Katana FASE purely based on the ease of entry. Sick to the back teeth of constantly standing on a strap, having to unfasten to release said strap and start over. With these set the toe strap the first time you set up then push your foot in to engage the high back bang your ankle strap down and away you go. It's that easy.
These are very responsive, just like a regular 2 strap binding, smaller disc so less noticeable dead spot. Love the 2° canting on the footbed for aligning my feet better. Good solid binding and comes with loads of spare bits too. To release just open the ankle strap, lift your foot heel first and you're out. Saves so much time getting in and out and it's a really good 2 strap asymmetric wrap binding to boot.
Do I recommend the Katanas? Hell yes!!!!! Get yourself a pair and hit the slopes like never before!!!!!
