Trip to Vaujany

Trip to Vaujany

I’ve just returned from an amazing snowboarding trip to Vaujany, part of the incredible Alpe d’Huez domain — and what a trip it was!

🏂 Snow Conditions

This season brought the highest snowfall in 10 years — and we definitely felt it! Snow conditions were excellent throughout our stay, with beautifully covered pistes and soft landings all around.

In fact, there was so much snow at one point that the resort only had one run open — a rare sight, but a testament to just how intense the snowfall was. Once everything settled, the slopes were in fantastic shape, offering long scenic runs, higher-altitude terrain, and wide-open sections perfect for carving and building speed.

The snow park was a real highlight. It catered well for beginners, intermediate, and expert skiers and riders alike, with features for every level. The only downside was that the beginner and intermediate parks didn’t have their own lift access, which made running laps a bit of an effort — but it was still well worth it.

🎉 Après-Ski

For après-ski, I kept it simple and headed to La Folie Douce (or “Follie Doosh,” as it’s sometimes jokingly called!). It absolutely lived up to its reputation — lively music, dancing in ski boots, and an electric atmosphere right on the mountain. The perfect way to celebrate a full day on the slopes.

🍽️ Food & Evenings

One of the real highlights of Vaujany is its excellent selection of restaurants. While the village itself is peaceful and traditional, it offers plenty of inviting dining options — from cosy alpine spots serving hearty mountain classics to more refined restaurants for a relaxed evening meal. After long days of riding, good food and a warm Savoyard atmosphere were exactly what we needed.

All in all, it was a fantastic trip: record-breaking snowfall, energetic après-ski, a fun and varied park setup, and delicious food in a charming mountain setting.

Already dreaming about the next adventure! ❄️🏔️
