For S2AS kitesurfing is not just a sport, it’s a way of life! And Poole Harbour is one of the best places in the world to start this great journey!
Kitesurfing is an amazing sport, but to ride safely and to ensure good progression it does require proper training, as kitesurfing can be difficult and potentially dangerous without lessons.
At S2AS we believe that anyone can learn to kitesurf and that by breaking it down into manageable chunks that allow for steady progression before moving on to the next step is the best approach.
**You must have a group of 4 people to do this course @ £269 Per-Person**
If there are on the course day 1 or 2 people. The day course will get shortened in time to a one-person private or 2-person lesson.
What does a 2-Day Kitesurfing Course with S2AS look like?
All-day kitesurf courses are group lessons and there can be a maximum of 4 students per instructor.
Day 1: “The fundamentals of kite flying!”
- Site assessment and checking wind conditions
- Explanation of the wind window
- An introduction to Power Kites
- Flying the kite in the wind window
- Control Exercises
- Rigging the kitesurfing kite
- Safety emergency features on the kitesurf bar.
- Kite control exercises in the water
- Body dragging exercises
Day 2: “Introducing the board!”
- Learn how to handle the board and how to get your feet into the board.
- Water starts on the board
- Kitesurfing control
- Power
- Speed
- Direction
- Self-rescue and dealing with problems in the water.
*Each day will last 6 hours and start at 10:00am at Poole Harbour. There will be a lunch break in the afternoon to replenish your energy.
What do I accomplish after a 2-Day Kitesurfing Course?
Once all of these steps have been completed you will be a BKSA-certified kitesurfer that able to control the kite safely and is able to ride on the board left and right, your S2AS instructor will give you a BKSA certification card to verify this. This certification is a world recognised, demonstrating that you are an independent and competent kitesurfer, enabling you to rent gear in the UK and abroad.
S2AS is a registered BKSA (British Kitesurfing Association) school, a high standard of safety and quality that is recognized internationally.
Once qualified S2AS can also help you with choosing the correct kitesurf equipment, as one of the largest stocked kitesurf shops in the UK with 18 years of experience in the kitesurfing industry.
What to wear?
All equipment will be supplied by S2AS for the course.
This includes:
- Wetsuit (you are welcome to use your own)
- Harness
- Helmet
- Floatation Vest
- Trainer Kite
- Kitesurf Kite
- Kiteboard. ( you can bring your own wetsuit if you own one)
The only thing you need to bring is a change of dry clothing, swimwear, and a towel.
*If you already have your own kitesurf gear and you would like to use it in our lessons, please contact us first.
When you book a Kitesurfing Lesson with S2AS you will receive:
- A Gift Voucher with a Lesson Number
- A free Book (worth £20) to help your basic knowledge
- 10% off your Kitesurfing Equipment after your lesson.
Wind conditions are always checked before lessons, and S2AS will confirm the status of your lesson at least 24 hours before the start.
If the wind doesn't allow us to teach a lesson, we will happily rebook you for another date of your choice, dependent on availability.
*We do not offer a refund on lessons cancelled due to wind conditions, however, the vouchers are valid for one year from date of purchase.
