What size snowboard do I need?

Your snowboard size depends on your height, weight and riding style (Most important is your weight). Most all-mountain riders choose a board that sits between chin and nose height and must fall in the correct weight category. Freestyle riders may size slightly shorter for manoeuvrability, Rotations etc while freeride and powder riders may size longer or wider for stability and float in the pow. What’s the difference between all-mountain and freestyle snowboards?

All-mountain snowboards are built for versatility across groomed runs, park and off-piste terrain. Freestyle snowboards usually feature twin shapes and softer flex patterns, making them better suited to tricks, jumps and park riding. Both types can be ridden all over the mountain still.

Are snowboards suitable for UK indoor slopes?

Yes. Most all-mountain and freestyle snowboards perform well on indoor snow and artificial surfaces, making them ideal for year-round riding in the UK. Slightly softer flex boards often feel more forgiving on these surfaces.

What snowboard flex should I choose?

Softer flex boards are easier to control and better for beginners or park riders. Medium flex suits most all-mountain riders. Stiffer boards offer more stability at speed and are preferred by advanced or freeride riders.

Do I need specific bindings for my snowboard?
