Kitesurfing is one of the most fun and exhilarating watersports ever invented, which is why you should learn the right way! Kitesurfing can be a difficult and potentially dangerous sport, which is why we recommend taking lessons with our BKSA Qualified Instructors.
At S2AS we believe that anyone can learn to kitesurf and that by breaking it down into manageable chunks that allow for steady progression before moving on to the next step is the best approach.
What does a 1-Day Kitesurfing Course with S2AS look like?
All-day kitesurf courses are group lessons and there can be a maximum of 4 students per instructor.
Day 1: “The fundamentals of kite flying!”
- Site assessment and checking wind conditions
- Explanation of the wind window
- An introduction to Power Kites
- Flying the kite in the wind window
- Control Exercises
- Rigging the kitesurfing kite
- Safety emergency features on the kitesurf bar.
- Kite control exercises in the water
- Body dragging exercises
*Each day will last 6 hours and starting at 10:00am at Poole Harbour. There will be a lunch break in the afternoon to replenish your energy.
S2AS is a registered BKA (British Kitesurfing Association) school, a high standard of safety and quality that is recognized internationally.
Once qualified S2AS can also help you with choosing the correct kitesurf equipment, as one of the largest stocked kitesurf shops in the UK with 18 years of experience in the kitesurfing industry.
What to wear?
All equipment will be supplied by S2AS for the course.
This includes:
- Wetsuit (you are welcome to use your own)
- Harness
- Helmet
- Floatation Vest
- Trainer Kite
- Kitesurf Kite
- Kiteboard. ( you can bring your own wetsuit if you own one)
The only thing you need to bring is a change of dry clothing, swimwear, and a towel.

These are the essentials that you will need to know in order to successfully fly a kite.
Once you've got this down, you're ready to try with the board on a 1-2-1 Private kitesurf lesson.
However, if you are comitted to learning S2AS most often recommend the 2-Day Course, because after finishing this course you will be an independent BKSA certified kitesurfer!
When you book a Kitesurfing Lesson with S2AS you will receive:

Wind conditions are always checked before lessons, and S2AS will confirm the status of your lesson at least 24 hours before the start.
If the wind doesn't allow us to teach a lesson, we will happily rebook you for another date of your choice, dependent on availability.
*We do not offer a refund on lessons cancelled due to wind conditions, however, the vouchers are valid for one year from date of purchase.
Kitesurfing is a perfectly safe sport when you have the correct tuition and with S2AS’ 2 Day Course, we can turn you from a complete beginner into a safe independent kitesurfer, with all the necessary theory required to make sure that you will be confident to get yourself out on the water safely.

- Please be aware that you may be liable for import taxes when you receive the item in your destination, this may be different for different countries (as a guide the UK VAT rate is 20%) you must understand and budget for any import taxes that you may have to pay. Surface 2 Air Sports is not responsible for these charges and if they are due you should be contacted by your customs office.
- Unfortunately, if S2AS send an item out and it is then rejected by the customer due to these import charges you will receive the full refund for the item when it is returned to S2AS minus the total shipping and returns costs.
- Exchange rates vary constantly, therefore, we cannot guarantee the price of an item in any other currency except GBP, all other currencies are approximate. The money taken from your account will be in GPB, you must check with your bank as to how it will come out of your account.
